Strip Drain Installation & Stormwater Connection – Parramatta
Our team recently completed a strip drain installation at a property in Parramatta to resolve ongoing surface water pooling around a paved area. During rainfall, water was not draining efficiently and was collecting along the edge of the hardstand surface. Over time, this can create slip hazards, damage paving, and place pressure on nearby structures.
To prevent further water buildup, we installed approximately 4.5 metres of strip drainage designed to capture surface runoff and redirect it safely into the stormwater system.
We began by setting up all required equipment and safety barriers to ensure a controlled and safe worksite. The ground was excavated and the base carefully prepared to support the new drain. Proper preparation is essential to ensure long-term structural stability and correct water flow.
The strip drains were installed on a cement bedding base to provide strength and durability. Care was taken to ensure the correct fall and gradient so that water would naturally flow toward the stormwater connection point.
Once installed, the new strip drain was connected to the existing stormwater pipework. We then tested the system by running water through the drain to confirm that surface runoff was flowing freely and efficiently.
