Bathroom Floor Waste Drain Investigation & Subfloor Plumbing Assessment In A French Forest Home
Our team was recently called to a home in Frenchs Forest to investigate why water and soap suds were backing up through the bathroom floor drain whenever the shower was in use. Our plumbers performed flow tests, removed any waste from the grate and used a wet vacuum to clean the drain, confirming that there were no major blockages.
Our plumbers also inspected the bathroom's subfloor and discovered water was dripping from the shower area. Further investigation revealed a cracked shower floor waste flange requiring replacement. (Quote provided separately.)
They then removed the cracked flange and applied a temporary polyurethane-based silicone repair. Although this stopped the lead, it isn't long-term and hidden water leaks may risk wood rot and subfloor damage.
